THE Edgar Street Grid (ESG) development will involve the creation of more jobs and homes than previously expected.
Jonathan Bretherton, chairman of ESG, told a Hereford conference today that 1700 jobs should be created as a result of the development and 1250 homes are now expected to be built.
He told the Courtyard audience that previously it had been anticipated that 1000 jobs would be created and 1000 homes built.
He also said that the contractor to construct the development's civic quarter was expected to be appointed in December.
Mr Bretherton was speaking at the event hosted by Herefordshire Council and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.
The conference is held in partnership with regional development agency Advantage West Midlands and the Hereford Times.
