A HEREFORD man who has given nearly three decades of service to charity has been recognised with a top award.
John Burgoyne joined the Hereford Lions Club in 1984 and has served as both president and treasurer.
The 68-year-old was given a Founders Fellowship Medal – one of the highest honours awarded by the charity – for his 'exemplary, dedicated and humanitarian service to the community.’ Club president Ron Williams said: “John has been at the very heart of Lions Club’s community work in the city since becoming a member almost 30 years ago and this national recognition is richly deserved.”
