HEREFORD has been named the friendly city by a local survey.

The word friendly was used to describe Hereford by approximately half of the people who took part in a Wye Hereford?

survey.

People also rated the city as welcoming to visitors, comfortable and safe place to live.

Sir Ben Gill, chairman of Visit Herefordshire, said: “Comments such as these will show people across the world that Hereford is a city well worth visiting on trips to the UK.

“Entrepreneurs seeking a location to establish new ventures will be impressed by the welcome they can expect if they chose Hereford.”

The Wye Hereford? group is dedicated to boosting the global awareness of the city and offered a prize of a meal for two at the Kilpeck Inn at Kilpeck for taking part in the survey.

Janice Bangs, winner of the prize, said: “Hereford is definitely a friendly city, and a safe one, too. I especially like the friendly service you get in the local shops.

“My husband Clive and I have twice moved away for work reasons, but have always come back.”
