CAREY’S Whitethorn Farm is the best orchard in Herefordshire, according to the Royal Horticultural Society.
The award for owners Rachael and Martin Soble was announced by the RHS at the Flavours of Herefordshire dinner.
It follows the Sobles’ gold medal at Hergest Croft Gardens’ Celebration of Apples last month.
Judges’ chairman Nick Dunn said his colleagues were very impressed by what they saw.
“It is very rare to see such determination, enthusiasm and such a successful young enterprise come to fruition so quickly,”
he said.
“The knowledge gained in such a short time and applied so effectively is impressive.”
