A HEREFORD woman who is the sole survivor fromher 10 siblings has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Edith Llewellyn is described by her son David as being very independent.
A former dressmaker, Edith was born in Llandrindod Wells in 1910 as one of 11 children.
Her eldest brother was killed in action during the First World War and her remaining brothers and sisters have all since died.
Edith married her late husband, Ivor, shortly before the Second World War and the pair moved to a house in Tupsley in 1947.
Following her dressmaking career, she worked at the city’s Barrs Court School.
Edith, who has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, celebrated with a family party.
She also received a card fromthe Queen to mark her 100 years.
