BOBBIE Heavens says the true legacy of the tourism work that has earned her an MBE is in the friendships forged along the way.
Services to tourism is the succinct summation of Bobbie’s 20 years spent spreading the word about Herefordshire. Over that time, she proved a prime mover in developing a tourism sector which is now crucial to the county’s economy.
The MBE tops awards for outstanding and lifetime achievements Bobbie has already earned for her efforts.
“I was deeply honoured to learn that my tourism colleagues had so valued my support during the past 20 years.
They contributed through team work to achieve support for the good of Herefordshire’s visitor economy and the whole business community of the entire county,” said Bobbie.
“Many of them have become friends and, for me, that is a wonderful legacy,” she said.
