A MASTER craftsman and furniture designer has won a national award.
Timothy Hawkins, from Bartestree-based Fine Furniture Ltd, won a silver award in the ‘Craft and Design Selected’ annual awards.
The work of hundreds of artisans was voted for by members of the public and category judges then made their final decisions from those who were short-listed.
Mr Hawkins' skill and experience has received further recognition this month as he is one of the artisans whose work has been chosen to be featured in the very first newspaper to be published by the Heritage Crafts Association, the president of which is HRH the Prince of Wales.
Previous commissions carried out by Mr Hawkins include pieces for Hereford Cathedral, Eastnor Castle, the Steiner Academy, St Michael’s Hospice and the boardroom of Wye Valley Brewery.
He also created a mystical 'oak portal' wardrobe for his gallery.
