The hogget trade has come back this week averaging 176.15 pence per kilo and selling to 188 pence per kilo for 43 kilo Texel cross hoggets to £81 per head and also to 186 pence per kilo for 48 kilo Texel cross hoggets to £89.50 per head all from D Price, Lugg View. 185 pence per kilo for 40 kilo Texel cross hoggets to £73.80 per head from C T Roberts and Son, Three Gates. 184 pence per kilo for 44.5 kilo Texel cross hoggets to £82 per head from B E Vale and Co, Wordells. 183 pence per kilo for 43 kilo Texel cross hoggets to £78.50 per head from R P Morgan and Son, The Farm. 181 pence per kilo for 42.5 kilo Texel cross hoggets to £77 per head from A L Lewis and Son, Cefnllyn.

Top price per head was £93.50 per head for 54 kilo Texel cross hoggets from BE Vale and Co, Wordells. Also to £91 per head for 60 kilo Suffolk cross hoggets from R H Watkins and Son, Marlow. £89 per head for both 55 kilo Texel cross hoggets from C R Thomas, Bryndraenog and 57 kilo Suffolk cross hoggets from R T Bright and Son, Shadwell Hall. £88 per head for 55 kilo Texel cross hoggets from A Thomas, Llanliggo.

The cull ewe trade was dear averaging £65.14 per head and selling to £107.50 per head for Suffolk cross ewes from Stud Farm (Powys) Ltd, Bleddfa. Also to £104 per head for Suffolk cross ewes from E G Jones and Son, Llanfair Hall. £103.50 per head for Texel cross ewes from G Roberts and Son, Purlogue. £99.50 per head for Suffolk cross ewes from A T Ruell and Son, Tregriggan. £98 per head for Texel cross ewes from both E D Powell and Son, Cwm and E G Jones and Son, Llanfair Hall.

Mule ewes sold to £87.50 per head from Stud Farm (Powys) Ltd, Bleddfa. Also to £87 per head for Mule ewes from D A Pugh and Son, Oakview. £79 per head for Mule ewes from C Evans and Son, Springhill; R H Watkins and Son, Marlow and E G Jones and Son, Llanfair Hall.

Speckled ewes sold to £68 per head from E H Bennett and Son, Trellwydion. Also to £66 per head for Welsh ewes from G Roberts and Son, Purlogue. £62.50 per head for Speckled ewes from M E and D R and C G Davies, Llanerch Hafod. £61.50 per head for Welsh ewes from E D Powell and Son, Cwm.

Cull rams averaged £57.17 per head selling to £77 per head for a Suffolk ram from R H Watkins and Son, Marlow.
