STUDENTS at Hereford College of Arts have brought their creativity to several projects supporting the work of the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust.

The first project was a brand design for the Herefordshire Wildlife Link, a group set-up in 2015 to promote partnership working between the many conservation and rural organisations in the county.

Students from the BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design course submitted a range of designs for consideration and student Samantha Burgoyne's linked leaf designs were chosen to be used to represent the organisation.

Helen Stace, from the Wildlife Link, said: "All the designs submitted were really strong. We were spoilt for choice, but we felt Samantha’s design best fitted the brief."

The wining student said she was delighted to have her design chosen.

"Being given the opportunity to work on interesting projects like this is one of the reasons I decided to study at HCA," she said.

"As students we have the opportunity to gain genuine experience of the professional environment we'll be joining when we graduate."

Meanwhile, students from the BA (Hons) Photography course at the Folly Lane college have also been volunteering their time to photograph the Wildlife Trust’s nature reserves, creating images for the Trust to use in their publications.

The Wildlife Trust's Frances Weeks said: "It has been wonderful to collaborate with the students at HCA. The standard of their work is so high and their attitude is totally professional. Their creativity has given a real boost to our projects."
