Store cattle - 910: An excellent entry with a wide variety of cattle in it met just a nice trade right the way through with all bar three animals finding new homes. All of the steers of whatever type, quality and size averaged at 197p/kg peaking at 255p/kg, all of the heifers of whatever type, quality and size averaged 188.6p/kg peaking at 280p/kg and all of the bulls to include some extreme dairy types averaged 219.3p/kg peaking at 286p/kg.

The prize winners in the show classes were as follows:- Best pen of four or more steers of any age or type suitable for further fattening - 1st M/s C T Whiteman and Co., Stoke Court, 2nd Burwarton Farms, The Hales. Best pen of four or more heifers of any age or type suitable for further fattening - 1st M/s C T Whiteman and Co., Stoke Court, 2nd M/s HEL and HM Bradley and Son, The Waddings, 3rd M/s SA and VL Morris, Moor House. Best pen of four or more bulls of any age or type suitable for further fattening - 1st M/s J Hughes and L J Davies, Rogerstone, 2nd M/s JAD and PM Owens, The Woodhouse, 3rd M/s P Barker and Son, Great Oxenbold Farm. M/s C T Whiteman and Co. won both the Laurie Wallace trophy for the best pen of steers and the George Davies salver for the best pen of heifers.

There was considerable interest in the breeding stock again with aged cows and bulls calves selling to £1,200, aged cows and heifer calves to £1,190, in-calf aged cows to £920 average £790. Other prices were as follows:-

Store sheep - 3,422: An entry with some nice lambs in it and an excellent trade. The winners in the show class for the best pen of store lambs were:- 1st D J Bradley, Gatacre Park Farm, 3rd F B Grosvenor and Sons, New Barns Farm, 3rd T J Richards and Son, The Garn Farm. The 1st prize winner received the Tom Stead perpetual shield. Strong store lambs sold up to £69.50 and averaged £63.50 with medium lambs to £62 average £58.90, small store lambs to £56 average £52.50, mini store lambs to £47 average £43.20. Ewe lambs to £76.

Calves and weanlings - 35: An increased entry with some nice calves and weanlings in it. Rearing bull calves sold up to £395. A nice run of Friesian bulls made between £80 - £100. Rearing heifers to £280 average £166, weaned bull calves to £345, weaned steer calves to £460 average £410, weaned heifer calves to £480 average £409.
