A GOOD entry of smart headed ewe lambs met best demand for black faced and Welsh Mules. Purchasers were limited but prices for the better sorts remained firm throughout.
Suffolk cross Mules sold to £84 with several pens from £72 to £82. A few smaller sorts from £64 to £71. Welsh Mules sold to £90 for a pen of well coloured sorts with prices from £57 to £83, and most of those on offer being sold. Texel crosses sold to £84 for strong sorts but were most difficult to sell, most from £65 to £76.
There were a few lots of pure bred. They sold to £118 for stronger Texels with some lighter weights at £70 and £72. A pen of well grown pure Charollais ewe lambs sold at £100. Shorn pure bred Lleyns sold at £71. Very good clearance effected to average £73.19.
