A FLOCK of pedigree Shropshire sheep have been transported from the county to continental Europe.

Almost 270 of the animals, from 14 different breeders in the Shropshire Sheep Breeders Association, left Hansnett Farm in Canon Frome, near Ledbury, this week enroute to three breeders in France and three in Germany.

"They are greatly in demand on the continent for apple orchards as they don't bark the trees," said Sue Farquhar, who owns the farm along with her husband, Mike.

A flock was also sent to Europe last year.
