A SELL-out crowd of 350 helped raise £25,000 during one of the largest charity farming events in the county.
The Merry Millers hosted their third charity dinner, dance and promise auction at the Three Counties Hotel in South Wye, Hereford.
The money raised will help support Hereford’s Breast Cancer Haven charity and Prostate Cancer UK.
Such is the pulling power of this event that this farmer-orientated function saw guests attending from seven different counties with every ticket having sold by January.
Among the auction items sold was a 20-month-old Pedigree Steer for £1,250, a Wales Rugby Union Grand Slam Shirt (£1,000), a beef calf (£640) and a Luctonians RFC table for 10 (£620).
The two previous events held by the Merry Millers raised £30,000 with donations made to St Michael’s Hospice and the Air Ambulance, among others.
