Software boost for Hereford's Barrs Court School

PUPILS at a special school in Hereford are celebrating the arrival of a brand new computer software package worth £2,500.

Students at Barrs Court School were presented with a Mayer- Johnson classroom pack that will help improve communication skills and provide learning resources in a variety of languages.

Simon Griffiths, education consultant at IT firm DynaVox, presented the kit after staff entered a competition at the latest British Education and Training Technology show in London, which evaluates the latest educational technology products available.

“This classroom pack now allows Barrs Court to choose from a library of more than 11,000 picture communication symbols and incorporate these in creating fully interactive educational resources, as well as print-based materials in up to 44 languages,” said Mr Griffiths.
