RADNOR Valley Primary School is to go green next term thanks to a £20,000 boost from a major supermarket.
It will install solar panels as one of 80 schools nationwide to benefit from the Coop’s Green Energy for Schools scheme.
Headteacher Elaine Richards said: “It is fantastic to be given this opportunity to generate our own renewable energy.”
A screen will show how much energy is generated and how much carbon dioxide is being saved.
Kington Co-op manager Sue Morris, who nominated the school, said: “Installing solar panels at our local school is a great way of getting our climate change message across to the community.”
