‘Hands-on’ science action on the move

USING sound to bend glass without breaking it was one of the skills discovered when a ‘lab in a lorry’ turned up at Wigmore High School.

Pupils got on board to learn about science and experimented with how to extract oil from rocks using water.

Aimed at 11 to 14 year-olds, and staffed by scientists and engineers from QinetiQ in Malvern, the project set out to encourage more to chose the subjects for further and higher education.
