A NEW hotel will be built in Hereford city centre after planning permission was granted.
Under delegated powers, Herefordshire Council approved plans for a 65-bed Premier Inn hotel in Blackfriars Street, opposite The Old Market Shopping Centre.
The hotel site is part of a larger submission for which planning permission was granted in 2016 and which involved a 13,000 square foot retail building on the Blackfriars frontage and 51 apartments behind.
The hotel will replace the retail aspect of this proposal but the 51 apartments will go ahead and the scheme is progressing.
The new hotel will create 25 jobs.
