HEREFORDIANS already know there is something rather special about the county.

And it appears that the message is continuing to spread, with one member of the royal family taking the time to tell locals about his own positive experience of the county.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, attended Hereford Cathedral yesterday for a private service of dedication for the SAS Memorial, which opened in April.

After the service he took time to greet the crowd who had waited in Cathedral Close for him which included included a refugee from Syria and a visitor from Australia.

Children from Hereford Cathedral School also greeted the Prince on his arrival to the cathedral along with around 200 well-wishers.

And he can be heard telling members of the public: "I can see why you want to live in Hereford, it’s so nice down here."
