STAFF at a Hereford nursery have thanked contractors working outside their business for the help they have received in keeping disruption to a minimum.
Management at Lollipops Nursery School and Creche on Newtown Road became concerned about possible disruption when work lasting nine weeks began on the adjacent A49, as part of the City Link Road development.
However, Lollipops Nursery manager Lorraine Rawlings said that the contractors have been working alongside the nursery to keep disruption to a minimum.
She said: "Obviously with all the changes with parking and traffic we were concerned about the effect on our business.
"The contractor's manager came around and we have worked together so they won't shut the road during our main drop-off times. They have had such bad publicity but are only doing their jobs.
"They have also offered to repair the fencing in our garden."
Contractors have also helped the nursery raise money for Macmillan through their cake sale which they expect to raise £700.
