A LEOMINSTER woman who appeared in Blockbuster movie Wonder Woman has won a $25,000 deal with ABC’s television network in the USA after coming top in a talent competition.

Jemma Moore, who now lives in London, is the 2017 winner of the UK’s first ABC Discovers: Digital Talent Competition, which aimed to find and champion British actors.

To enter, actors were asked to create a video performing one of the comedy or drama scenes posted on the competition's website and were judged on quality of performance, potential star power and technical skill set by a panel including respected UK casting director Kate Dowd judged all entries.

Jemma said: "I am honoured to be selected as the winner of this extraordinary competition.

“To be seen and credited by ABC Casting is an incredible feeling. You work so hard, thoroughly prepare and treat each audition as a learning experience. To see it come to fruition is what we all aspire and work towards – I am truly grateful.”

The ABC Television Network is home to the Emmy-winning Modern Family series.

The winner of the 2014 US Digital Talent Competition Cornelius Smith Jr is a series regular on the hit drama Scandal, and last year’s winner Beth Triffon has a recurring role in the upcoming ABC series Ten Days in the Valley.

Ayo Davis, senior vice president, talent and casting, said the competition was an 'enormous success'.

She said: “In Jemma we found an extremely talented and skilled actress with a fresh voice. We’re excited to welcome Jemma to the ABC family and work with her throughout the year."
