A CHANCE to enjoy the 'blooms, blossom and bounty' of some of the gardens in a village near Ledbury is on offer.

The Putley Open Gardens event takes place will give enthusiasts a chance to wander through one garden laid out in the 1920s, one that’s in the making, one that’s being restored and one that’s been adapted and personalised in the last five years.

Visitors are also encouraged to explore Putley Church, which will host a flower arranging competition.

Organiser, Tim Beaumont, said: “Putley is surrounded by orchards and if we’re lucky, the apple trees in blossom will add to the magic of what we hope will be a fine and sunny day, full of interest for gardeners and their families.”

The event starts (and finishes) at the Parish Hall, HR8 2QN, which has car parking, tickets, teas, tombola, a plant sales and toilets.

The event, on Saturday, May 13, will support the upkeep of the Parish Hall and Church. Gardens are open from 1pm until 5.30pm and entrance is £5 per person with free entry for children under 15.

Dogs are not allowed in the gardens.
