SHOPPERS and staff at a Hereford supermarket have raised more than £7,500 in memory of a 20-year-old who died from cancer.

Beth's Wish was chosen as Hereford Sainsbury's fundraising cause for the year and they raised £7,691.23.

Beth Davies, from Belmont, was 20 when she died following a 10-month battle with a rare form of cancer. pheochromocytoma, which she was diagnosed with in February 2012.

Her mum, Helen, and sister, Gemma, launched a fundraising appeal called Beth's Wish in her memory.

The money has gone to St Michael's Hospice to be held in an account called Beth's Wish, which will provide support for young adults, aged 18 to 25, facing end of life care at the hospice.

Beth's mum, Helen, thanked Sue Davies and her team at Sainsbury's.

She added: "This is an awesome amount and shows that the people of Hereford still support our wonderful hospice. Thank you to everyone; you have no idea what this means to Beth's family."
