YOUNG and old were united for an event to celebrate the Queen's birthday – and her love of hats.
The celebration was held at the Whitehouse Community Hub in Tupsley on Monday and saw a hat parade followed by a dainty tea.
Members of the community were joined by young people from Close House Youth Centre in Hereford.
Councillor Marcelle Lloyd-Hayes, who helped to organise the Royal Hatscot event, said: "It was a fantastic success. We had such fun. We had a bit of fun dancing and by the end of the say the Close House students didn't want to go.
"I have been to Ascot, I love ladies day and I love hats and have a lot of them and so I thought why don't they all come out for an outing as it's Royal Ascot week.
"The point that I made was that every time the Queen has attended an event, she was wearing a hat and is synonymous with them.
"Nearly 50 people came along, including the students."
Those who attended also took a dish for the tea party which followed.
The community hub is based at the former White House pub on Whittern Way.
Residents can drop in between 2pm and 4pm each Wednesday.
