A FOOTBALL tournament run by a youth charity is taking place next month.

Hope Support Services is hosting its first football tournament at Hereford Academy on June 4 with a winning prize fund of £140.

All teams of six-plus are welcome and there will also be a family fun day running alongside it with stalls, live music and a bouncy castle.

Hereford Academy Level 3 BTEC Sports students are helping to organise the day to raise funds for Hope, which supports young people when a close family member is diagnosed with a life threatening illness.

Hereford FC’s United in the Community Football and Education students will also bring their speed cage, for those looking for an extra challenge.

Site leader Adam Jones said: “Helping run events like these allows the learners to develop some really important life skills.

“United in the Community Football Education students are more than willing to support the great cause of the Hope Support Services.”

The event will run from 10am to 3pm. Entering a team costs £30 per team (must be booked in advance), while fun day entrance is free.
