TWO huge names in hip hop are heading to Hereford.

Fatman Scoop, best known for the popular track Be Faithful, will be headlining at The Venue on Friday, June 3, while DJ Yella of N.W.A is at the club on Friday, August 12.

Having worked with the likes of Whitney Houston, David Guetta, Missy Elliott and Lil Jon – to name but a few – Fatman Scoop will be bringing 'something for everyone'.

Ed Lindsay, events planner and promoter for The Venue, said: “If you have never seen or heard a Fatman Scoop track before you can expect lots of party club anthems.

“He has done music with everybody – he's a really popular guy.

“Hopefully he will appeal across the board so not just for people into hip hop but others as well.

“It is set to be a really good night. Lots of people are really excited about it.”

Around 100 people will be selected for a meet and greet on the night too.

DJ Yella was part of the American gangsta rap group N.W.A, alongside Arabian Prince, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, The DOC and MC Ren.

The blockbuster movie, Straight Outta Compton, was based on the group.

Mr Lindsay said: "It's definitely a big one. He's a member of N.W.A who wasn't really in the limelight as he was a DJ rather than a rapper but will be playing all the classics which is really cool. He also does a lot of talking on the microphone and has agreed to do some meets and greets afterwards.

“It is a chance to meet one of the legends of one of the most influential gangsta rap groups so it's quite exciting.

“It shows we really are serious about brining decent music to Hereford and to try and have a venue for everybody.”
