A LEOMINSTER-based theatre company for actors with learning disabilities has been challenging young people to think about hate crime and bullying.
About Face completed its final performance of Don’t Stare at Weobley High School last Wednesday.
The cast has performed the show – funded by Comic Relief – 29 times in 14 different schools across the county and around 1,200 pupils have taken part in workshops.
About Face Theatre Company is part of ECHO and perform locally and nationally while running thought-provoking workshops in schools.
This project was to raise awareness of hate crime against people with learning disabilities, and to leave young people with the understanding that hate crime is a crime like any other, and should be reported.
The Comic Relief funding is now finished, but Don’t Stare is still available for booking in the autumn for the new intake of year seven pupils.
