THE Ross-on-Wye town Christmas fayre and lights switch-on is today.

A town council committee arranged the event after the Association of Ross Traders decided not to organise it this year.

The fayre will be open from 11am to 5pm and there will be 48 festive stalls, as well as The Beefy Boys selling their popular burgers.

Father Christmas will be in his grotto from 12pm to 4pm at the Royal Hotel and two of his reindeer Comet and Blitzen will be at the Market House from 2pm to 4pm.

St Mary's Church choir and the Ross Town band will be singing carols too.

The lights are being switched on at 4pm.
