AN opportunity to meet the managers who run the county's mental and social healthcare services in Herefordshire is on offer.

The free event will take place on October 13 at The Green Dragon Hotel and will mark World Mental Health Day – a global celebration of mental health education, awareness and advocacy.

The 2gether NHS Foundation Trust mental health team will be in attendance as well as local charities which will be on hand to offer information and suggestions on how to maintain and improve emotional wellbeing, as well as giving advice on accessing appropriate local services.

Refreshments will be available from 5.30pm, with the event running between 6pm and 8pm.

Dawn Lewis, 2gether’s public governor for Herefordshire, said: “I wanted to mark World Mental Health Day by holding a very important event where people can hear from, meet and ask questions to the managers who run their local NHS mental healthcare services.”

Metal health is one of society’s last taboos even though one in four people will experience some form of mental illness during their lives – whether that’s depression, anxiety, stress, memory loss or a more complex condition.
