REGULAR police patrols will be carried out at a village church which has been targeted by thieves.

During two months between May 17 and July 15 there have been four incidents at St Bridget's Church in Bridstow, near Ross-on-Wye, reported to the police.

On June 2, a report was made that between May 17 and 18 someone tried to break into the church's donation box. They were unsuccessful and nothing was stolen.

On June 12 the police received two reports that a stained glass window had been smashed and entry was gained to the church.

This prompted regular police patrols at the church and extra security advice was given.

Then on July 15 a suspicious male was seen in a private area of the church by a member of the public who confronted him and he left.

This is subject of a current police investigation. Anyone with information in respect of any of the above should contact police via 101 quoting police incident 0531S 150715.
