LEOMINSTER festival is back for another year from today and organisers are keen to show off the best of the town.
The nine-day festival will showcase a range of events from talks and walks about Leominster’s history to quizzes and live music.
Kicking off the festivities is a family fun day today (Saturday) at the Grange and everyone is welcome.
Like a medieval fair, there will be entertainment and competitions for all ages.
Merchants will come from far and wide to set up the plant fair - organised by Leominster in Bloom - together with tents and stalls from several other local organisations.
The festival will be officially opened by the mayor of Leominster at 11am and there will be a procession which will include the newly appointed ale-taster, bread-weigher and fish-taster.
There will also be a bouncy castle, WildPlay, face painting, vintage bicycle display, Leominster Town Cadets, a tug of war, food labyrinth, the allotment society, music, morris dancing and children's craft sessions.
Plenty of other events are taking place over the weekend, including a performance of The Apple Dumpling Girl by About Face Theatre Company and music from Leominster's Choral Society at the Priory Church this evening.
For the full list of events taking place visit leominster-festival.co.uk/portfolio or pick up a programme from Leominster Tourist Information Centre and around the festival.
