A MENTAL health charity is offering a 12 week support programme which will see participants take part in weekly sports.

Herefordshire Mind is running Get Set to Go with support from the National Lottery and Sport England.

It is on offer to both those who have been diagnosed with a mental health illness and those who are undiagnosed.

Each participant will have a peer support navigator.

Rachael Cordy-Jones, project co-ordinator, said: "They will offer coaching; support to help each individual overcome any barriers and motivation to keep them on track over 12 weeks. Hopefully it will lead onto sustained physical activity to improve mental health.

"There is lots of information about how physical activity works well to improve mental health."

There is an open day for those who are interested in taking part on June 13 at Bishops Meadow in Hereford from 12.30 to 4pm.

There will be different sporting activities to try and free entry into a draw to win £50 of Sports Direct clothing.

The programme will start at the end of June. Call Herefordshire Mind on 01432 271643 or 07867 001569 if you have any questions.
