A HEREFORD-based women's organisation has raised £500 for a county charity.
Christine Starnes, president of the Hereford Wye Valley Inner Wheel club, selected the Diabetes Hereford Support Group as her charity this year.
As her husband has Type 2 diabetes she believed that simple lifestyle changes could prevent the onset of diabetes.
At a meeting last week, Mrs Starnes handed over the funds to the charity's Mick Jancey, who also gave a presentation to members about the hidden risk of diabetes.
Many young people, as well as old, could be completely unaware they have the condition. All it takes is a simple blood test to detect low glucose levels.
