A HEREFORD man died due to being exposed to asbestos during his time in the navy.
Raymond Farr, 73, of Burcott Road, passed away on Christmas Day at St Michael's Hospice.
An inquest this week heard Mr Farr was diagnosed with mesothelioma in early 2014, which is a rare form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos.
Monday's hearing was told he could have been exposed to asbestos during his time in the navy when he painted the roofs of an ammunition factory.
Coroner Mark Bricknell recorded Mr Farr died as a consequence of industrial disease. He said he is satisfied the exposure took place during his working life.
