MORE than 50 artists – including Harry Potter illustrator Cliff Wright – have come together to create a one of a kind event in support of the restoration of Hay Castle.

An exhibition, which will be open from Saturday April 4 to Saturday April 11, will feature a mix of regional artists from both sides of the border, as well as some from further afield who love Hay and support the vision of Hay Castle Trust.

One of the pieces on display will be a quirky illustration by Quentin Blake.

Also up for auction are original works by Harry Potter illustrator Cliff Wright, Heap House illustrator Edward Carey, and cartoonists Rosie Brooks and Tony Husband.

There will also be etchings by Norman Ackroyd and Frances St Clair Miller and watercolours by Sophie Windham and Robert Macdonald as well as many more.

An auction will take place on Saturday April 11 and will start with a drinks reception and canapes, and a chance to browse the exhibition of works before art expert Edward Clive auctions selected lots in a live auction.

Tickets for the live auction are available for a suggested donation of £20, and they can be bought online at haycastleart.org

All funds raised from the sale of artwork directly help rescue and conserve this nationally significant piece of heritage.
