A LEOMINSTER worker has blasted a water company which left temporary traffic lights on a busy road after they had finished the work they were carrying out.

Welsh Water carried out essential work in Bridge Street in Leominster last Tuesday morning- finishing by 1pm.

But the temporary traffic lights were not removed until the following day which Leominster worker Chris Marsden said caused tailbacks.

He said: "They finished working on the road and just did nothing to remove the lights and they could have done so easily.

"Everybody was complaining about it."

A D?r Cymru Welsh Water spokesman said: “We recently introduced a temporary traffic management system in Bridge Street, Leominster to help us with the work of connecting a local household to our water network.

"This was essential to help us do this work safely. However, we finished this work earlier than anticipated and apologise for any inconvenience caused to local residents by the slight delay before the traffic management system was fully removed.”
