A NOVICE cyclist rode 380 miles in under four days in memory of two of his cousins.
Kyle Dovey cycled from Edinburgh to Hereford last week raising £2,000 for the E.L.Y memorial fund, which was set up in memory of his cousin, Emma Louise Young.
Miss Young tragically lost her life in September 2010 in a road traffic accident aged 23.
Mr Dovey, 28, also cycled in memory of another cousin Billy Grisman who died aged 30 on November 30 last year.
Mr Dovey, who is a plasterer from Westfaling Street, Hereford, said: "I have only been cycling for about two months. I just thought of my two cousins who have died recently and thought life is just too short.
"I thought I would give it a crack, so I bought a bike and did a bit of training."
He received support along the cycle ride from his girlfriend, Alice Ford, and parents, Diane and Stuart.
The money raised will go to the E.L.Y memorial fund, which offers a one-off payment towards funeral costs for families in Herefordshire if they lose a son or daughter aged between 17 to 25 in a road traffic accident.
