A CHARITY which supports females across the world will hold a concert to mark International Women's Day.

Concern Universal, which is based in Hereford, will hold an evening of music at All Saints Church in Hereford on Saturday, March 7.

The evening, hosted by Wincey Willis, will feature performances from Helen Vereker Singers, Hay Community Choir, Got 2 Sing, Borders Trio and Golden Valley Singers.

Tea and homemade cake will be served during the interval and Concern Universal’s chief executive, Kathryn Llewellyn, will talk about her own experiences of being a woman working in international development.

Organiser Francesca Sandwell said: “We are proud as a charity to support women across the world and are passionate about giving these women the opportunities that they deserve.

"We enable girls in Malawi to get an education and provide job opportunities for their mothers, support small scale female farmers in Ghana and stand up for the rights of women and children in Brazil.”

Doors open at 6.30pm and the concert starts at 7pm. Tickets are £7 for adults, £5 for under 16s and free for under 3s from Francesca on 01432 355111 or go to http://concern-universal.org/get-involved/events/hereford-raise-voice/
