A COUNCILLOR has criticised a housing group, which she said took too long to react to mounting rubbish outside a tenant's home.

Glenda Vaughan-Powell said she continually called Herefordshire Housing about the unsightly mess in a garden in Marcle Walk, Newton Farm, Hereford.

Neighbours were unhappy to see a three piece suite and 15 bags of rubbish dumped in the tenant's garden, she said.

The mess was cleared up on Monday afternoon by Herefordshire Housing.

Cllr Vaughan-Powell said: "After many weeks ringing persistently and weekly contact with Herefordshire Housing, my endeavours to help my residents have come to fruition and I am sure the people of the area will be pleased with the end of a serious problem.

"I always have and always will work in their best interests."

Samantha Baker, spokesman for Herefordshire Housing, said: “Herefordshire Housing works with tenants to resolve any issues that may arise. We were aware of the fly tipping issue at Marcle Walk at the start of January and our neighbourhood team worked quickly to ensure the issue was resolved and that the tenant was fully involved.”
