ALMOST 100 runners got in the festive spirit to raise money for a good cause last weekend.

The inaugural St Michael's Hospice Santa Run took runners on a five-kilometre course around the streets of Hampton Dene in Hereford.

Starting and finishing at the Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School, runners enjoyed sun, blue skies and crisp temperatures while they raised charity funds.

Hundreds of families also enjoyed making some Christmas memories and joined in with the three-kilometre Reindeer Walk.

Snow cannons, reindeer, mulled wine and mince pie made for a magical Christmas experience and helped raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice to provide vital services for patients and families over the Christmas period.

Matt Ashcroft, events manager at St Michael’s Hospice said: "It was wonderful to see everyone get into the festive mood and join hundreds of other participants in our Santa Run and Reindeer walk."
