A TEENAGER who raised more than £10,000 for charity has lost his fight with cancer.

Alex Naylor passed away last night, aged 19, after a battle with T-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Within the last two weeks he has raised an impressive £11,550, and still counting, for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The Presteigne resident wanted to hit the £10,000 mark before he died and was able to see this happen over the weekend.

On his fundraising page the following message was posted in the last hour by his family: "It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Alex lost his battle to leukaemia yesterday evening, Monday 27th October, he passed away peacefully at home with his family around him.

"Our hearts are breaking in pain but so full of pride for our brave, inspirational, compassionate son. Your ongoing messages of support and love have greatly helped during this difficult time, in the same way they helped Alex through the last days of his life."

Alex was diagnosed with T-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when he was just 12-years-old but doctors only discovered his condition was incurable two months ago, just before he was due to start a nursing course at university.
