SPORT RELIEF - There is still time to register for The Sport Relief Mile in Presteigne. The event will take place at East Radnor Leisure Centre on March 25, meeting at 10.30am with the run starting at 11am. To enter visit www.sportreleif.com or pop into the leisure centre. MUSIC - Steady Eddie and The Boogie Men will be playing live at The Royal British Legion Club Saturday from 8.30-late. Admission is £3 at the door and everyone is welcome.

POETS CAFE - The Marches Poets are holding a poets cafe with Rose Flint, poet and artist at The Assembly Rooms on March 31, from 8pm. The music will be from Gareth Rees on guitar and Adam Watson on harp. Tickets are £6 which will include refreshments and are available from The Judges Lodgings or from 267245 or 267418.

EXHIBITION - The Stations of the cross exhibition featuring the works of 14 artists continues at St Michael’s Church in Discoed until April 14.

MUSIC - The Budapest Cafe Orchestra returns to Presteigne on Sunday evening at The Assembly Rooms from 8pm. They will play powerful and driving folk based music from Eastern Europe inspired by the music of European gypsies.

BINGO - The cricket club would like to give prior notice that their Easter bingo will take place at The Royal British Legion Club on Easter Monday, April 9, at 8pm. There will be loads of fantastic prizes with the last quickie house being worth £50.

WINE BAR - Dave Luke and Chuck Micallef will be playing at No 46 Wine Bar on March 31, from 8.30pm. Admission will be £3 at the door.

THE MAN ON THE HILL - Made in 1987, this is a portrait in words and images of the 19th century nature writer Richard Jeffries. His words are spoken by the actor Paul Scofield. There will also be a short six minute film, Green, which sets the landscapes of the borders to music by the Japanese composer, Toru Takemitsu. Entry is free at The Assembly Rooms on March 23, at 8pm but donations are welcome.

BALLADEERS AND CHANCERS - The Duke’s Arms is holding a Balladeers and Chancers session on March 29, from 8.30pm This is a chance for anyone to turn up and play.
