THE Rotary Club of Leominster are pleased to announce the results of the local heat of the Young Writer Competition. This competition is run by Rotary and the local winner proceeds to a district level and then hopefully to a national level. It is open to children aged from seven to 17, is split in to three age bands and, this year, the title theme was A Different Perspective.

In the Leominster heat the top four entrants all came from Weobley Primary School with the overall winner being Abi James so many congratulations to her. Her entry will now be forwarded to compete in the Rotary district level against entries from Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire.

Many congratulations also go to Naomi Watters (2nd place), Bryony Ameghino (3rd) and Jessica Dyer (Highly Commended) and to Stephen Warrell (Head of School) and the staff at Weobley Primary School for the support given to encourage the work of young people who show talent.

All winners received a book token for their efforts and Rotary wishes to acknowledge the enthusiasm shown by all the entrants and the teaching staff from the schools who submitted entries.
