LADY Emily Community Hall on November 14 was the focus for a fair given by the Tarrington Craft Club with proceeds in aid of the St Michael's Hospice.
The event was well attended with a number of crafts on display – spinning wool and silk, needlework, quilting, knitting and sewing, as well as furniture restoration with Christmas cards, cakes and other produce for sale. Refreshments in the form of a multitude of cakes of all types and sizes were available.
Joan Merrick, on behalf of the club, thought that the target of £400 that was collected at a similar event last year will be well exceeded.
The club meets on Tuesdays in the Community Hall, from 11am to 3.30pm. Members can attend for the whole period or for part of the time, as they wish. The members cover a wide range of crafts, depending on materials available and inspiration from each other.
Over the year they have collected many hundreds of pounds for a variety of local charities.
