ARTIST Paula Woof brought her easel to Hereford White Stuff for a slightly more unusual sketch session, as she delivered a doggy-portrait day to the canines of Hereford.

Nine pooches from pugs to Alsatians posed for a bespoke watercolour piece, raising £225 for local charity Hope Support Services.

Hope supports young people across the county when a family member has a life threatening illness, such as cancer, and has recently started work at St Michael's Hospice delivering its children and young people's service.

White Stuff partnered with the charity back in 2013, and has since held events including a dog walk, jam competition, mime-a-thon and sewing contest to raise money to help young people in the area.

The dog portrait day was so popular, plans are already underway for another next spring.

"Including a few donations from the central White Stuff Foundation, the Hereford branch has raised over £5500 which is incredible," said Hope's CEO Clare Thomas.

"The doggy portrait day was certainly proof that animals and clothes certainly do mix! The dogs were so well behaved and everyone involved had great fun, my family even came away with a lovely portrait of Bella the dog.

"It not only raised valuable funds for Hope but was a real community event, and a big thank you must go to Paula Woof, White Stuff and their customers."
