HEREFORD and Worcester Scouts have appointed a new county commissioner, Robert Sidley, known as Sid.

Aged 37, Sid, has been appointed to lead Scouting in the county.

With over 8,000 members across the county it's going to an exciting few years supporting the amazing work that's being provided in Scouting throughout Hereford and Worcester. Sid comes from a Scouting background. He has been a Cub and Scout, and came into leadership in 2009. Since then he has numerous roles across scouting.

Sid said "I've been in role for a few weeks now and I have seen the amazing scouting that is going on in our county. I'm really looking forward to developing the support the county provides to the volunteers, our districts and ultimately all the young people that we inspire, develop and create those amazing experiences and skills for.

"Going forward there are several exciting challenges and developments, new projects - not to mention all the everyday adventures and jobs that need to be carried out."

To support the Scouting programme Sid is looking for a chairman for the County Executive Committee.

This person does not need any scouting experience but a desire to support the resources and support to all those in Scouting. This is from those in Beavers to Trustees of Scout Groups and all the way to forming new partnerships and relationships within our communities. The County Executive has a number of volunteers - all there to support the County Commissioner Team to provide events, training, facilities and programme development.
