THE Beaver Scouts from ten Beaver colonies in the South Marches District attended an outdoor adventure day at Madley Environmental Study Centre recently.

The Beavers worked in teams to build amazing dens in the woods using wooden poles of various sizes.

They used stones as pillows, blocks of wood as seats and one even had a look out post to warn of attack by wild animals!

They went pond dipping where they discovered a vast variety of pond creatures including dragonfly nymph, beetles and even a rare water scorpion.

Finally they had the opportunity to try making a mud model of their favourite pond creature.
