ON Sunday, May 21, Sollershope PCC will hold their annual Rogation-Sunday dog show, fete and duck race.
Rogation Sunday has been celebrated at Sollershope for decades, but this year marks the 10th anniversary of the out-door celebrations on the church valley meadows, and to mark this occasion a celebratory £50 cash prize will be won by one lucky person who purchases a raffle ticket on the day.
Proceedings start at 11.15am for those who would like to join the open air service, which as always includes the ever-popular blessing of pets and animals.
At noon the dog show commences and runs throughout the afternoon with ten fun classes including the agility course and best six legs.
Prize rosettes are awarded for 1st-3rd place in each class, with a cup for the Best in Show.
Also from noon, hot food, cakes, plants and books will be on sale, together with traditional games including coconut shy, tombola, skittles and hoopla; the afternoon concludes on a 'fowl' note, with the duck race and egg catching completion.
Well signed, and just a short distance off the B4224 (Hereford to Ross-on-Wye), with ample free parking and lots of fun for all the family and furry friends.
