THE Teme Valley Vintage Club based in the Knighton area held their annual tractor run recently.

Seventy-nine tractors took part.

The run started from Benson's yard in Knighton by kind permission from David and Roy Edwards.

While all the drivers were signing in and having a hot drink Sid Durden and Ben Chainey from McConnel in Ludlow choose the winner of the John Biggs memorial trophy for the best turned out tractor.

The winner was Gwyn Williams and the trophy was presented by John's widow Pat Biggs. John was a very active member of the club.

The tractors left the yard went up into the town and down the main street before going on the 27 mile run up Llanshay Lane, on to Norton, Discoed, Litton Hill, Monaughty for refreshments, Llangunllo, Heyope and then finished at the Castle Inn, Knucklas for lunch.

Next year the club are hosting the National Tractor Run and might have as many as 700 tractors taking part.
