THE Knighton Christmas lights were turned on last weekend at the clock tower by Cllr Sally Vaughan, the mayor and Knighton Primary School junior mayor Emelia Watts. Afterwards everyone made their way to St Edward's church hall, where there were drinks and mince pies for everyone.

There was also a performance by Knighton Primary School's new foundation stage choir led by Mrs Mandy Blower and a fancy dress competition before all the children had the chance to meet Father Christmas to tell him what they wanted for Christmas and to get a small gift.

The fancy dress competition was judged by members of Knighton Primary School's junior council.

Results were: Under fives 1st Chloe Newton, 2nd Kane Davies and 3rd Coby Davies. Six and seven years 1st Tegan Davies, 2nd Seren Preece and 3rd Rosie Shaw. Eight years and over 1st Archie Roberts, 2nd Yasmin Davies and 3rd Dylan Wood. The event was put on by Knighton Town Council.
