THE Forest of Dean half marathon event was yet again an enormous success with perfect weather conditions and the hundreds of runners being cheered on by members of the public, stewards and marshals.
The Royal Forest of Dean Rotary Club mapped out the route through the picturesque and beautiful forest observing deer, wild boar, and a variety of birds and other creatures.
Four cyclists acted as the vanguard followed by the runners (and walkers).
First in at the finishing line, was Kevin McMillan who then remained there to greet those who arrived after him.
Medals and congratulations over, it was time for a well-earned massage.
Rotary president Mike Bennet was delighted that the day had gone so well and congratulated everyone who participated and praised Rotarians for their excellent contribution and organisation, which has surely placed this annual event permanently in the calendar of half marathons nationally and internationally.
